One hundred thousand Buddhas confession—instantly attaining Buddhahood is a terma teaching discovered and transmitted by the great lineage holder Pema Dudul. It is a very important teaching in the Great Perfection. When Pema Dudul discovered this teaching, his motivation was to help all sentient beings in the world of the Five Turbidities, because in a world like this, the most helpful teaching is this one. Listening to it, hearing it and seeing it will liberate from the samsara. This teaching is supreme.
Nowadays, sublime beings of different schools in Tibet are all promoting One hundred thousand Buddhas confession. In Tibet, Han Region and western countries, people are reciting this teaching. This teaching has been translated into Chinese, English and many other languages so as to let more people realize its merit.
It is a very simple teaching. You may practice just by reciting it. It is not necessary to apply the three supreme methods: start with the thought of bodhicitta, do the practice itself without any conceptualization and dedicate the merit at the end. Just reciting is fine. One hundred thousand Buddhas confession is a very simple, very supreme and very complete teaching.
Reciting One hundred thousand Buddhas confession is very good for purification of negative actions. No matter they are vows of the Pratimoksa, vows of the shramanera, vows of the bhiksu or vows of Vajrayana, no matter which of these vows are contravened, reciting One hundred thousand Buddhas confession will cleanse obscurations and purify negative actions.
One hundred thousand Buddhas confession is a teaching of transference. All the negative actions we have done can be cleansed through reciting the teaching. Reciting One hundred thousand Buddhas confession once will accumulate as mush merit as meeting in person with thousands of Buddhas and be blessed to take rebirth in the western Buddhafield, the Blissful and Buddhafield of the Five Dhyani Buddhas. It should be recited daily without interruption. No matter it is animals, relatives, friends, vajra brothers or sisters and people we know or we don’t, at the moment of their passing away, reciting this teaching in their ears will be of great help. At present, the world is full of abortion. This is a very serious issue. Reciting One hundred thousand Buddhas confession once will not only perform transference to aborted babies, but also cleanse your own negative actions and obscurations. We should recite it persistently. This
teaching will greatly benefit all aspects. Purifying negative actions through reciting this teaching will automatically remove all kinds of obscurations for you. Especially when you ask for health, harmony in your family and success in your work, reciting One hundred thousand Buddhas confession will work well for you.
You should recite One hundred thousand Buddhas confession in places where there are many sentient beings. Even if you couldn’t finish the entire teaching, reciting one or two Buddha names from the teaching would eventually liberate sentient beings that have listened to it. Although they are not going to attain Buddhahood instantly, when the chances of affinity mature, they will attain Buddhahood in the future, or in their afterlives. You should all keep reciting One hundred thousand Buddhas confession everyday. People who don’t practice Buddhism could recite; people who don’t have trust in Buddhism could recite; people who don’t believe in samsara and the law of cause and effect could recite. Why? Because you will attain liberation through listening to this teaching. Reciting just once will be very beneficial.
When reciting One hundred thousand Buddhas confession in the mountains, the air you breathe out from your mouth will be carried by wind to sentient beings on whom seeds of liberation will be planted. This is a teaching of liberation. One hundred thousand Buddhas confession has the merit of liberating from listening.
Reciting One hundred thousand Buddhas confession in crowded places like a supermarket will liberate sentient beings from samsara through having them listen to the teaching. We should have One hundred thousand Buddhas confession tie Dharma affinity with more people. Once someone ties Dharma affinity with the teaching, he will certainly take a look. If he sees guru’s photo,he ties the Dharma affinity. If Om mani padme hum are seen by eyes, seed of liberation will be planted in one’s heart. If your family members are not willing to practice Buddhism, It will be great if you can try to get them reciting One hundred thousand Buddhas confession. Reciting once will plant a seed of liberation in their hearts. This is the biggest help and the real help to them. I want you to take this “job” as your responsibility. This is my teaching.
